Pre-School Classes
The Dance Company's outstanding pre-school program is based on a fun, well-organized atmosphere. Although our pre-schoolers learn many skills to help their physical development and coordination, our primary goal is to teach them how to learn. Using age-appropriate songs and dances, we build on the child’s natural love of music and movement, providing a nurturing, stimulating, yet structural classroom environment, specifically designed for children of this age. The pre-school classes consist of a happy blend of songs, dances, pre-ballet, tap and tumbling. The following classes are available:
A PERFECT CLASS FOR PARENT AND CHILD TO DANCE TOGETHER. Our two year old dance program begins with Mommy and Me. Toddlers enjoy taking the lead in their first dance class with the security of Mom or Dad. Focus is on developing large motor skills, encouraging confidence, expressing creativity, and introducing the student-teacher relationship. The teacher leads parent and child through imaginative movement, music, songs, and fun gentle-gym exercises. A great way to introduce your child to dance and music! The dress code for this class is a pastel colored leotard (no patterns - any style), pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

A CREATIVE MOVEMENT CLASS DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN TURNING THREE YEARS OLD BY SEPTEMBER. Children will develop independence and confidence in this class. Using imagination and fun props, they will make connections between their movement and self-expression in a comfortable and nurturing environment. This fun and imaginative class builds on the child’s natural love of dance and music. Costumes, props, balance beam, mini-trampoline and a wide variety of music all add to the fun. The dress code for this class is a pastel colored leotard (no patterns - any style), pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

Dance Magic - Ages 3 1/2 - 4 1/2
A dance class that gently introduces the preschooler to a more structured dance class to develop their body awareness and prepare them for the progression to ballet and tap. Using basic dance movements, fun music, props and imagery, students work on mastering coordination and developing focus and attention. The dress code for this class is a pastel colored leotard (no patterns - any style), pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

This class allows your child’s imagination to soar with timeless princess stories that we all know and love. BELLE, SLEEPING BEAUTY, CINDERELLA, SNOW WHITE, ARIEL and ESMERALDA all make surprise visits to this class to share a spot of tea with the young princesses. The teacher weaves the princess stories and characters into this special dance class, which allows the teacher to take these little princesses on their own magical journey through enchanted forests filled with teddy bear princes, fairies, wands & tiaras, a ride in a royal coach and a weekly treasure box surprise. The dress code for this class is a pastel colored leotard (no patterns - any style), pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

Ballet/Tap Combination - Ages 4 1/2 - 5 1/2
Through specific, well-structured exercises, this combination class introduces students to ballet and tap steps and combinations. Memory and focus are developed as well as learning the protocol and etiquette of dance class. Musicality in rhythmic patterns and dynamics are developed, laying the foundation for progressing in ballet. The dress code for this class is a black leotard (any style), pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and tan tap shoes with straps (no ribbons).

Storybook Ballet Theatre - Ages 3 1/2 - 6
This new preschool class is designed to bring the magic of your child's favorite stories to life through dance, acting, dress up, and song! Each week, after enjoying a fun warm up, students will learn dance movements, songs, and acting to perform in the timeless children's stories that we all know and love, including:
- Hansel and Gretel
Alice in Wonderland
The Nutcracker
Cinderella
The Princess and The Pea
Rapunzel
The 12 Dancing Prinesses
The Littlest Pumpkin
Jack and the Beanstalk
Little Red Riding Hood
As well as learning these favorite fairy tales, preschoolers will have fun dressing up in costume as the characters and using fun props to dance and act out these fairy-tale stories. This
engaging class will hold the preschooler's attention and imagination as they are being
introduced to their first dance classes. The dress code for this class is a pastel colored leotard (no patterns - any style), pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

Welcome to the world of Fancy Nancy! This preschool theatre class is a must for children who love Fancy Nancy books. Students will dance, act, and sing their way through this fun-filled class. Fancy Nancy will visit the students each month to see what the girls have learneed about her world. Basic dance, acting, and singing techniques are introduced. Girls are encouraged to wear "attire" that is "fancy" along with their pink ballet slippers. The dress code for this class is a pastel-colored leotard (no patterns - any style), pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.
